Our 31st Annual Children & Youth Day event was held May 18th, 19th, and 20th. This year’s venue was a bit different, as COVID-19 gathering restrictions were still in place, but that did not stop us from celebrating BIG with a Fun-in-the-Sun socially-distanced event at our 509 W. Weber Ave. lobby area.
Over 500 reusable tote bags filled with activity sheets and craft kits were distributed to children, families, and Child Care Providers during this year’s free event. The tote bags not only provided children with activities to keep them engaged and learning over the summer months, but also contained information on available local resources. Each attendee also left with a brand new hardcover children’s book and a healthy snack.
Children & Youth Day is an annual event hosted by Family Resource & Referral Center for children and families in San Joaquin County and surrounding areas to increase community awareness of services and opportunities available for children from infants to teens. We would like to thank this year’s event sponsors: RTS Packaging, LLC, Health Plan of San Joaquin, First 5 San Joaquin, and Altamont Corridor Express CAP.
